In the first quarter of 2012, Taiwan's inkjet printer shipments declined

According to the IDC survey report, Taiwan's total shipments of inkjet printers in the first quarter of 2012 were 135,770 units, with quarterly growth and annual growth declining by 9.7% and 15.9%, respectively. The market continued to experience the fourth quarter due to low demand. The overall market shipments maintained a downward trend.

Statistics showed that the Inkjet MFP shipped 96,039 units this quarter, a decrease of 14.9% from the previous quarter and a 15.8% decline from the same period of last year. The overall inkjet market also returned to the same period last year, accounting for only 70%.

The Inkjet SFP (Inkjet SFP) shipped 39,731 units, which was 5.9% higher than the previous quarter, but still showed a 16.0% decline compared to the same period last year.

Liu Yixi, assistant analyst at IDC Taiwan’s personal computing research department, stated: “With the recent shrinking number of inkjet printers, in order to compete with laser printers that are constantly eroding the market, various manufacturers have developed new models to meet the different needs of the market. With the introduction of high-capacity, high-volume products, there are even models that specialize in continuous ink supply. Because of this, single-function inkjet printers can still maintain a small quarterly growth in a deserted market."
