Electronic Science and Technology R & D team develops cloud computing core products

On a recent occasion, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China officially launched the "Independent Controllable Cloud Computing and Big Data Application" joint engineering center. This new initiative was formed through a strategic collaboration between CLP Software Information Service Co., Ltd. and the university. Under the terms of the agreement, the joint lab will allocate 30 million yuan over the next three years to support research and development in key technologies and products. CLP Software will provide financial support to the university for core technology and product innovation. The company will also establish dedicated technical teams to work alongside the university's researchers, forming a collaborative R&D group. Additionally, CLP will open up its customer network to help promote the application of big data across various industries. They will also support the university in building a national-level research platform and assisting with academic awards and recognition. The university, on the other hand, will focus on foundational theoretical research, core technology development, product prototyping, and talent training. It will also provide necessary infrastructure and resources to ensure the smooth operation of the joint lab. The director of the joint laboratory is Professor Luo Guangchun from the School of Computer Science. The team has previously engaged in a three-year collaboration with CLP Software on the development and commercialization of cloud computing platforms. Together, they established a joint R&D team that successfully developed core cloud products such as IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and PaaS (Platform as a Service), which meet international standards. These solutions have already been deployed in key industry sectors, including the National People’s Congress, Xinhua News Agency, China Railway Corporation, and Beijing Culture Silicon Valley, demonstrating their practical value and broad applicability. This partnership not only strengthens the university's research capabilities but also enhances the real-world impact of cloud computing and big data technologies in China's digital transformation journey.
