Salt spray testing machines are essential tools used for evaluating the corrosion resistance of various materials and components. These devices are widely applied in industries such as electronics, electrical equipment, home appliances, metal coatings, and industrial products. They simulate real-world environmental conditions to assess the durability and performance of protective layers and finished goods.
The exterior of the salt spray test machine includes several key components. A dry and wet bulb thermometer is used to monitor the temperature and humidity within the test chamber. The measuring bucket collects the spray volume during each test, with a 50ml scale for accurate readings. An insulated sink prevents salt spray from leaking by using a water seal mechanism. The saturated air tank, made of SUS#304 stainless steel, warms the air to reach a saturated humidity level before it is sprayed through the nozzle. A brine supplement bottle automatically refills the preheating tank with salt solution. The test cover, designed with a beveled roof, protects the top of the test chamber. A pressure regulating valve ensures the correct air pressure (1kg/cm²) is maintained, while the pressure gauge displays the pressure reaching the nozzle. An exhaust pipe, 1.5 inches in diameter, drains wastewater from the system. The inlet allows for water replenishment in both the laboratory and the saturated tank.
The operation switch illuminates the control panel, managing the heating system of the test chamber and the saturated air tank. The timer switch controls the power supply to the time controller. Two low water level warning lights alert users when the water levels in the heating or saturated tanks drop below safe limits, automatically cutting off the power. The spray switch controls the spraying system, while the defogging switch manages the dehumidification process.
Inside the test chamber, the spray tower houses a glass nozzle that disperses the salt mist into the chamber via a guide and cone disperser. The spray regulator adjusts the amount of spray, allowing for precise control over the test conditions. The salt water preheating tank, located at the base of the spray tower, is filled via the brine supplement bottle. Its water level is automatically controlled by a float ball, with a drain valve for cleaning. A collector captures the salt fog, directing it into a measuring cup through a funnel. The wet ball cup holds moisture for humidity testing, while the shelf, made of plastic steel, supports samples at angles of 15° and 30°. A glass filter purifies the salt solution before it is sprayed. The heating water tank, located beneath the test chamber, maintains stable temperatures for consistent testing conditions.
The control system includes a lab temperature controller set at 35°C for salt spray tests and 50°C for corrosion resistance tests. The saturated air tank temperature controller is set at 47°C for salt tests and 63°C for corrosion tests. The timer allows for adjustable settings from 0.1 to 9999 hours, with automatic shutdown after the test. The accumulator tracks total test duration. Over-temperature controllers protect the system by cutting power if the test chamber or pressure tank becomes too hot.
