1. Comparison of high-tension low-elongation fine wire mesh (LEM) and standard monofilament polyester wire mesh (MP)

Compared with MP, LEM has mainly improved from the following three aspects: fiber characteristics; weaving technology; post-processing process.

1. Fiber characteristics: The polyester polymer has been improved in chemical properties, increasing the molecular weight and molecular chain of PET material. This chemically synthesized polymer, after special treatment, has many advantages:

â‘  Low elongation results in less elongation and higher tension.

â‘¡High tensile strength and tension reduce the screen pitch, reduce scraping pressure and improve printing accuracy.

â‘¢Long tension stability ensures a long service life of the screen.

â‘£High wear resistance and chemical resistance, more durable than ordinary standard wire mesh.

However, the low elongation characteristics of this fiber make it very difficult to produce and must be carefully controlled during the web stretching process. In Figure 1, through the comparison of LEM and MP fiber stress and elongation, the increased strength of LEM fiber has been understood. LEM fiber has about 10% elongation before rupture. 2. Weaving technology and post-processing process: LEM uses special weaving technology, after weaving, it is treated with a special heat-setting process to stabilize its stretchability. This weaving and post-processing operation gives LEM the following advantages:

â‘ Under the action of balanced external force, the stretch rate of wire mesh is equal in both directions of warp and weft. Ideally, when stretching the net, LEM will maintain a 1: 1 stretch ratio, which can be tested with a high-tensile wire mesh detection method. Note: When testing the stretch characteristics of different types of LEM, it must be controlled under the same conditions, and the same conditions should be used during printing.
