Wuxi Korean School builds Polaris media platform

First, the customer profile

Wuxi Korean School is located in the Wuxi New District and serves nearly 300 Korean students by offering an education system that closely mirrors that of South Korea. The school was established with a total investment of approximately 25 million yuan, covering an area of about 20,000 square meters and a building area of over 8,000 square meters. Designed to meet modern Korean educational standards, it features a first-class teaching building, administrative offices, auxiliary living facilities, and a sports field. The school currently has 18 classes across junior and middle school levels.

Second, customer needs

The school required a reliable solution to transmit live audio and video content from various sources such as cameras, DVD players, PCs, and servers. The goal was to stream this content through a network using an encoder and push it to a designated media resource management platform for online broadcasting. Live streams needed to be accessible on PCs and projectors within classrooms, allowing both indoor and outdoor activities and drills to be broadcasted in real time.

Third, customer status

The existing infrastructure includes high-definition cameras capable of providing HDMI/SDI signals, DVD players, PCs, servers, projectors, and other display devices that support receiving and displaying video. The school also has a stable network environment along with necessary switch equipment to support the implementation of a streaming solution.

Fourth, program design

To address the school’s needs, we selected the Aoku HD Encoder to capture and encode high-definition video signals from the camera. The encoded signal was then transmitted over the network to the Acool Streaming Media Server (AMS). The server collected the video stream, distributed it, and stored it for later use. This allowed PCs and projectors in multiple classrooms to receive and view the stream via a high-speed, stable educational private network. The system integrates modern technologies including mainstream video/audio compression, transmission, and network solutions.

Fifth, features of the program

1) The solution uses a high-definition encoder and streaming media server, ensuring scalability. Additional signal sources can be added simply by introducing more encoders. 2) The system is quick to implement, requiring only network cabling without additional wiring. 3) The AOKU HT9001 encoder supports audio capture, and the decoder and streaming server also support audio channels, enabling synchronized audio and video transmission. 4) With the streaming media server, computer-generated signals can be recorded and expanded for further application. 5) It supports direct access to the server via networked PCs or mobile devices, making it flexible and user-friendly.
