According to reports, this lightweight composite material called MTEX ​​is actually a composite fiber with metal coating, which can combine the hard characteristics of metal with the flexibility of composite fibers, and can also withstand high temperatures like metals. At present, a material (such as glass fiber reinforced plastic) made by applying a protective layer on a fibrous material according to a conventional method is extremely poor in heat resistance because the applied organic material decomposes or even burns when heated. They solved this problem by applying a new method to coat the metal directly on the fiber. Each fiber combined with the metal coating changes in strength and structure, and combines two different characteristics of hardness and flexibility.
During processing, this composite material can be used as a traditional FRP riveting and bonding process, or as a metal welding process, so the use of an extremely wide range.
