US Army Survival Handbook--Survival Plan with Will to Overcome Difficulties (2)

If you are not a pilot, you may not have that life vest or survival kit, but being familiar with their content can help you prepare your own toolbox.

Even a small survival kit, if properly arranged, is invaluable when you are in danger.

Selection of survival kit contents

What kind of things are needed in the survival kit is determined by the environment.

How much stuff is in the toolbox and where to put the toolbox is determined by the way you travel and the overall equipment of the team.

When preparing the toolbox, select items that have more than one use. If you have two things that can be used for the same purpose, then you can use it for other purposes. Don't have duplicates, that will only increase the size and weight of the toolbox.

The toolbox doesn't need to be sophisticated, you only need something useful, and then find a container that holds these things. You may use a makeshift box, first aid kit, ammunition bag, or other suitable container, but this container must -

● Waterproof.

● Easy to carry.

● Durable.

● Sufficient to hold what you need.

Must include in your toolbox -

● First aid supplies.

● Signaling tools.

● Water or tools for drinking water.

● Fire appliances.

● Food or tools for getting food.

● Body products.

You only need to carry weapons when circumstances require it.
