Adhesive label selection method

Barcodes are useful only if printed on a carrier to form a bar code label. However, how do you know if a bar code label meets your requirements? Of course, print quality is very important. You need a barcode label with sufficient accuracy, reflectivity, and contrast to give it a satisfying first-read rate. However, print quality alone is not enough to guarantee the success of your bar code application. If your bar code labels cannot survive in the appropriate environment, or cannot be firmly attached to the surface of the object, or cannot be read by the bar code reader multiple times, or Life cycle is not long enough, or can not meet the UL, CSA and government regulations, then this bar code label has no use value, your bar code application system will fall short. Therefore, when you invest in a bar code printing system, you must first test The bar code labels produced by this system can meet you. Selection of face paper/adhesive/backing paper The self-adhesive material consists of three parts: (1) Surface material (2) Adhesive (3) Backing paper. The answers to the following questions can help us to choose the right materials. 1. The permanent and removability of the adhesive The performance of adhesives can be divided into two categories: permanent adhesives and removable adhesives. 2. Emphasize the significance of the label surface Because the label processed with adhesive materials may be labeled on the surface of each material, such as glass, metal, cardboard, and plastic. Plastics can be further divided into PVC and HDPE. Tests have shown that different label surfaces have the greatest impact on performance. 3. Surface structure of the label substrate Intuitively, the rough surface of the label requires a highly viscous glue. 4. The surface shape of the label substrate The surface of the substrate of the label has a plane and a surface. If the surface of the label has a certain degree of curvature (for example, the surface of the vial having a diameter of less than 3 cm), it may require the surface paper to have good conformability or a glue with strong viscosity. 5. Marking surface cleanliness Self-adhesive materials are best for surface cleaning, dry, oil-free and dust-free label substrates. 6. Plasticity adverse effects on the adhesive Labeling Conditions - The adhesive viscosity needs to be applied under cold, hot, humid or room temperature conditions. Use environment—Does the sticker be exposed to temperatures below freezing, whether it is for outdoor use, high temperature, humidity, or ultraviolet light, and whether it is close to a hot engine. 7. Requirements of self-adhesive materials for printing methods and processing methods After selecting different printing methods (such as flexographic printing, letterpress printing, offset printing, heat transfer and laser beaming, and processing methods (such as roll-to-roll, roll-to-single-sheet, folding-feed, single-sheet), It is up to the printed material. Please note: Before determining the adhesive material, it should be tested under the same conditions of printing, processing and labeling. Face paper selection The choice of face paper depends on the printing method and the end customer's needs. High-quality printing products, of course, require glossy paper, inherently high-quality adhesive materials, and thermal transfer printing methods require the use of special glossy, stain-resistant surface paper.
