Maoming Petrochemical styrene plant application new technology successful expansion

Maoming Petrochemical Ethylene Industry Corporation's 100,000-ton/year styrene plant optimization expansion project was recently completed. The drive was successful once and all indicators were qualified. The device has successfully applied the newly developed TJH type pulsed structured packing and high-efficiency tower internals technology in China, providing powerful technical support for the petrochemical industry to tap potential and increase efficiency and save energy and reduce consumption. Styrene is a kind of heat-sensitive material and it is very easy to self-polymerize. Therefore, styrene distillation should be carried out under vacuum conditions to reduce the distillation temperature, and at the same time, a polymerization inhibitor must be added. For large-diameter columns, the selection of their packing and the appropriate gas and liquid distributor configuration are the keys to success. In order to increase the production capacity of Maohua's 100,000 tons/year styrene plant, the company used TJH pulsed structured packing and high-efficiency tower internals technology to transform it. TJH pulse structured packing can realize multiple gas-liquid pulses in a single packing to enhance the gas-liquid turbulence in the structured packing, greatly improve the separation efficiency, reduce the resistance, or significantly increase the processing capacity without changing the efficiency. . After the transformation of the plant, the production of styrene increased from 100,000 tons/year to 120,000 tons/year.
