Recently, Tejnoji Mika of Italy developed a Teflon wine bottle stopper, which has more advantages than the commonly used wine bottle stopper.
The Teflon wine cork is covered with a layer of fine powder of polytetrafluoroethylene polymer produced by DuPont in the surface of a common bottle stopper. This smooth, non-reactive polymer wine stopper is easy to plug, easy to pull out, and can better prevent the distribution of alcohol in the bottle. Therefore, it does not affect the taste and mellowness of the wine. The PTFE membrane outside the stopper also resists the erosion of any solution.
