Experts from the Russian Institute for Practical Biotechnology have developed a reusable food bag that can absorb water and bacteria.
This new type of food packaging adds dehydrated acid, various mineral salts and enzymes to the polymer of its packaging material. The surface of the food packaging material rich in these substances can absorb excess moisture in the packaged food and kill bacteria, thereby improving the internal environment of the packaging bag. At the same time, the enzymes in the additive can also regulate the smell of food and create a living space for the nutrients in the food.
In the process of developing this new kind of food packaging bag, Russian experts solved the problem by using multiple freezing and thawing techniques to prevent additives in packaging materials from entering food ingredients.
To enable this new type of food packaging bag to be used repeatedly, the researchers also added pepsin to the packaging material. This enabled the packaging bag to be reused nine times in a specific process, reducing the cost of the packaging bag and reducing the Cost of production.
