The Ministry of the Environment of Japan submitted a draft budget of 300 million yen (2.5 million U.S. dollars) to the new parliament a few days ago. According to this energy-saving plan, the central and local governments will pay 2/3 of the cost of installing a voltage regulator for each household, which is approximately 100,000 yen (US$830). According to reports, more than 6,000 households will become the first beneficiaries of energy-saving regulators. In Japan, the rated voltage in a house is 100 volts, but the actual voltage often fluctuates from 98 volts to 107 volts. In fact, the average indoor voltage in Japan is 103 volts. The newly installed voltage regulator is almost the same size as a laptop, which keeps the voltage constant at 100 volts. According to statistics, if you can reduce the voltage from the current 103 volts to 100 volts, you can reduce the electricity consumption by 6%. Calculate the electricity bill paid for 110,000 yen (about 920 US dollars) per house per year and install a voltage regulator. After the house can save 6,600 yen (55 US dollars) per year of electricity. If Japan's national residents and office residences are equipped with such energy-saving regulators, then Japan's annual greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced by 1%.
