He graduated from the Shanghai Theatre Academy, majoring in dance, and was once a bar owner. Later he switched to an architectural designer and then built the earliest LOFT Creative Industry Park in Hangzhou. It seems that every transition of his span is very large, and he does not play cards as usual, but everything is his interest. "Every time I change because of my interest, I like this, so I go. Try." From stage design to architecture, interior design to furniture design, what kind of process have you experienced?
I studied classical stage art and entered the interior design from a very wide field. At that time, I learned about drama, the earliest form of human activity. During that time I was exposed to sculpture, architecture, theatre performances, music appreciation, dance, etc., which inspired a lot of my interest. At that time, our profession had a new name called the performance space design, which also had a great relationship with the interior design.
I have been doing interior design since I graduated, but I am concerned not only with the indoor space, but also with the architecture and the furniture in the room. I am concerned about a wide range of things. Although I have not tried everything, I have been Thinking about this. My furniture design is a bit like making art, and now I am slowly adjusting it to make it look more practical and beautiful.
Why is the company named "inside building"?
The reason why our company is named is the inner building. Because the building we want is an extension of the interior and exterior; all the interior is an extension of the building inward.
Is the city in which a designer lives associated with his design style?
Will be affected. The landscape culture of Hangzhou has bred my sensitivity to the natural world, and I have paid more attention to extending these concepts to the room, bringing people, architecture and nature into harmony.
What style of space do people like to design?
A space full of fun. I will think when designing, I am creating a love environment, a passionate life. I am always excited at this moment because my dreams are coming true. I hope that everything will be brisk, I will add a sense of humor to the design, it is a sense of humor, not a joke.
Please say a design work that you feel has a sense of the times?
A flagship store designed for JASONWOOD. Explain the characteristics of the brand's target consumer group after the "80" with interesting details. For example, all the stairs and locker rooms in this space can be removed at any time and then rebuilt, which emphasizes the “temporary†of “post-80s†work, residence and love; and the use of non-degradable plastic woven bags, etc. The non-environmental isolation space emphasizes the “80s†awareness and passion for environmental protection. These are the qualities I see in them when I get along with these little young people.
Do you have a unique concept about architectural design?
“Architecture is a one- to six-dimensional definition of space. This rational analysis of public, semi-private, and completely private spaces leads to the conclusion that good buildings cannot be used before they begin design. The definition of goals must be the inevitable result of a series of correct and logical decisions."
How do you incorporate the cultural flavor of the city into space design?
Just like the landscape of Hangzhou, it has already decided that she is a leisure city. The designers are working hard, but how to extend these concepts to the room, harmoniously blending people, architecture and nature. Leisure is comfort, restoring the original face and state of life. Hangzhou SOHO is a vein of urban culture, so in the space design, it reflects a combination of ancient civilization and urban industrial context.
What is your studio like?
Abandoned industrial house, the gray wall is full of wall-climbing plants. Pushing away the original heavy iron gates, picking up the stairs from the natural cement stairs, bare steel handrails, pipe faucets, six or seven meters high, the sun is coming in from the huge glass windows that are all over the ground. Very leisurely, working can also be part of leisure.
How do you think of a creative shop?
I have always dreamed of opening a creative shop similar to a European grocery store, which sells all kinds of necessities that people need, and they are all designer works. Before I opened the store, I spent more than 9 months searching the world for creative products.
Facing a shop of nearly 300 square meters, I pulled a truck of cardboard and used it to build lockers, display cases, bookshelves, dressing tables, and a coffee bar. Don't worry that the 'furniture' made of cardboard is not strong enough. Each piece of shelf uses N pieces of wood and has a strong load carrying capacity.
How did you design your own home?
When I started designing this home, I would consider it from two meanings. The first place here is where the wife lives comfortably, and there is also a place for friends to meet. Based on this, the entire living space will be divided into two areas with different styles. Downstairs is suitable for the guests, the entire space is opened, there are more than 60 square meters of activity area, the interior decoration is also suitable for this need. Relatively speaking, the upstairs space is a comfortable private space.

Under limited conditions, maximizing space is a task that designers are willing to try. The space treatment on the second floor of the residence is also the most satisfactory design of the entire house. A fitted storage cabinet was made in the upstairs bathroom, while the other side of the storage cabinet was connected to the bedroom. At the same time, the bathroom is also connected to the study. The entire bathroom has a size of more than ten square meters. As a result, the entire second floor has become a comfortable, open and private space.
What is your ideal life status?
"I am satisfied with my life now. My family is very beautiful. My job is the industry I like. My hobbies and abilities are also realized." I thought Sun Yun would paint a beautiful life blueprint. I didn't expect the present. Life is his ideal state. "I have a 'safety' in my heart, which makes me feel good about anything in my life."
Do you have any hobbies in your leisure time?
I like to travel, enjoy music and other activities. I am a person who combines art and life.
If you are not a designer, what industry do you work in?
1. Bar owner. The first thing I did after graduating from college was to open a Casablanca bar in Hangzhou with a few buddies. After more than a year, I didn't do it because it was too noisy and I couldn't do the design quietly.
2. Gardener. On the terrace of the studio, I built a garden and raised more than 100 kinds of plants, mostly rare species from Africa and other places, they grow very well.
3. Collectors. I am now a council member of the Museum of Photography. In addition to the antique furniture in the studio, there are many collectibles, such as the antique silver watch, the jewelry of the Song Dynasty, the LV suitcase in the 1980s, the carpet in Afghanistan, the hoe from Tangxi...
